Italy remains stable at 20% while only Denmark and Portugal each, from 11 to 9 and 38 to 36% respectively. In 1996 there were 12.3 million women in the labour force, By 2006 female participation is predicted to rise by nearly 1 million to 13.2 million, with almost three quarters of that increase aged between – 35 and 59 years.
